Hurricane Warning for the central Bahamas...which includes...
Cat...Exumas...long islands...Rum Cay and San Salvador and a
Hurricane Watch for the northwest Bahamas...which includes
the Abacos...Andros...Berry Islands...Bimini...Eleuthera...Grand
Bahama and New Providence.

A Hurricane Warning remains in effect for the southeastern
Bahamas...which includes Acklins...crooked...Inaguas...Mayaguana
and Ragged Islands...and for the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Harbour Island, islet and district (1.5 sq mi/3.9 sq km), central Bahama Islands, off NE tip of Eleuthera Island, 33 mi/53 km NE of Nassau; 2530'N 7638'W. The small island is one of the most densely populated in the archipelago; produces tomatoes, pineapples, coconuts. The chief settlement, Dunmore Town, has a fine harbour. Harbour Island was one of the 1st in the Bahamas to be settled by buccaneers. Its fine beaches attract many tourists.
