: Between 1896 and 2000 there were a total of 39 Confirmed Unprovoked shark attacks in the whole of the Bahamas. Of these 39 attacks, just 2 were fatal - and that fatality occurred in 1968.

I'll never forget the day I was Bonefishing in about 15 inches of water and a hammerhead about 5 ft. long swan over my sneakers.Was I worried? You bet, but I never once thought to strike out against this fella. I was in his back yard and he had every right to have his way with me.Somehow we gotta get it in perspective and this old boy thinks it's their home we're messing with.I'll take a shark any day to some of the dead beats I see running amock in the islands. Ken
