An engineer met today with a group at Howard Seigel's. His suggestion is to 'help' nature along. This would be accomplished by removing about 8 inches of sand from the beach and putting it back where the current drop off is. This process should be repeated 3-4 times at about four week intervals. Evidently it is very important to do it NOW as this is when the sand is coming back in and has not settled. The more participants in this effort the better for the entire beach.
Gregory said he will bring in the equipment to move the sand. Price will be somewhere around $100/hour. Lyn Felton plans on talking to Gregory Higgs tomorrow for more details.
Kif Brown reports that just in the two weeks that she was there you could see that a lot of sand had come back in.
Lyn and Ben Wohlberg worked most of Monday building stairs for the public access path to the beach between Buck Johnson's and Lavender Hill. This is the beach access from Juicy Hill, and the way guests at Tingum Village get to the beach. Think of them when you use this path!
