MISS UNIVERSE VISITS
HARBOUR ISLAND
Miss Universe, Denise Quinones, recently spent a day in Harbour Island.
While in Harbour Island Miss Universe enjoyed a tour of the island, had lunch and visited several resorts
and the local straw market.
She was along with a group that came to Harbour Island on the Bahamas Fast Ferries 'Bo Hengy.'
FORMER TRACK STAR - BAHAMIAN MEDALLIST VISITS
Tommy Robinson, former track star and Bahamian Olympic medallist paid a visit to Harbour Island
recently.
FAMOUS FILM STAR COOLS OUT IN BRILAND
Popular Hollywood star, Robert DeNiro visited Harbour Island recently to enjoy the sun, sand and sea.
RESORTS CLOSED FOR SUMMER SEASON
Several of the island's resorts will close by the end of September early October for renovations.
September is always a very slow period for tourist visits. October 8 -13 has been set aside for the Annual
North Eleuthera Regatta.
SCHOOLS REOPEN
IN BRILAND
On Monday, September 3, school reopened in Harbour Island with hundreds of students for the new
school year. Harbour Island All Age School accommodates students from Grade 1 to 12.
Several students in Harbour Island also attend the Windermere High School in South Eleuthera.
