Jerry; All things being equal I'd do the flight if you can. The whole experience of flying into the N.E. airport, taking a taxi to the dock and
then the 10 min boat ride to HI is really quite unique. The ferry is probably fine to, but 90 min can be a long time on choppy water if you're not used to it. Have fun!

: The ferry is fun and fairly reliable (it was down for a couple of days in November.) Be advised, however, that they will charge you for excess baggage over 2 pieces, I believe. It seems it was about $20 a piece...but check with them to be sure. Size didn't seem to be a factor...my folks were charged the same amount for a rod case as a suitcase! Also, on the trip back be SURE to ask the ferry captain to call a taxi for you. Potters Cay is isolated and we had a terrible time getting a taxi to come pick us up when we docked about 6:30...and you don't want to be there after dark! Good luck!
: : : : My wife and I are going to harbour Island in Feb. We have to take a ferry from Nassau to Harbour Island, which takes about an hour and a half. Does anyone know how to get the schedule of the Ferry, or any info regarding it. Thanks Jerry

: : : Bahamas Fast Ferries at

: : : scheduled departure times and arrival times are posted for both winter and summer.

: : Or call them at 242 323 2166. They leave Potter's Key dock (under the Paradise Island bridge) twice a day at 7:30 am and at 1:30 pm. the trip takes about 2 to 2 1/2 hours and docks right at the government dock. It is a great way to get here.
