The Threat of Shark Attacks in Perspective

After some researching on the web I can offer the following comforting factual information to those people concerned that sharks in the waters around Harbour Island pose a serious threat to humans.

Between 1896 and 2000 there were a total of 39 Confirmed Unprovoked shark attacks in the whole of the Bahamas. Of these 39 attacks, just 2 were fatal - and that fatality occurred in 1968.
